First, a big shout out to Cathi Nelson & Lisa Kurtz. The APPO conference in Anaheim, CA was an all around success. If you were ever wondering “is it worth it” the resounding answer is YES!! If you have regrets about missing the conference then now is the time to do something different this year so that next year we will see you in Cleveland.
Here are three things I learned from 100+ fabulous women and men in 3 days:
1) Relationships are powerful! I think most people would say, “I know that” and “I do too”…but when you are in a room that is filled with like-minded photo organizers who all want to help people share their stories, there is an energy that is electrifying. Conference allows us to all be in one place at one time; and to connect and engage with each other is a rare opportunity that is priceless!
2) Act Now! Guess what, there will never be a perfect time to do anything…so why wait. We are all paving our own way, we are taking the lead and it is okay if sometimes you feel like you don’t know what you’re doing.
3) Do one thing differently! I am guessing most of you are still unwinding a bit from conference with long lists of things you are going to work on, buy, or add to your business. I would like to challenge you to commit to do one thing differently in your business (even if you did not attend conference). It does not matter how big or small it is, but do one thing differently that propels you forward, excites you, motivates you. Remember, “the expert in anything was once a beginner” – author unknown.
