It’s been my favorite number for as long as I can remember. I’ve used it in training and coaching for many years. It is simple and it works.
The real power of three happens after what I call the “crash and burn” phase of peak energy and the adrenal rush of a big event. Conference attendance is one such big event.
All you want to do is start implementing all that you’ve learned in the past few days. Then reality sets in. You come home and everyone seems to need you before you even unpack. Regular life takes over. It’s easy to fall back into your old routine.
I encourage you to break down your list into three’s. Then decide if you can get three things done each day or each week. You have the freedom and flexibility to make this work for your own personal schedule. You also have the ability to choose three giant or small accomplishments. The most important thing is to be consistent and stay focused on getting your list of three done!
Here are three tips as you start to make your lists…
- Try to mix your three things with easy, difficult and fun.
- Be realistic but definitely push yourself out of your comfort zone!
- Challenge yourself to get through your conference notes this week and make a list of action items by priority.
Let us know how you prioritize your list and your plan to implement what you learned at conference this year in the comments below.
