August and September have proven to be challenging months for so many. As moms and business owners our hearts are heavy watching so many disasters unfold across the world. I know the hurricanes and fires touched so many photo organizers personally. Both with those living in some of the areas hit the hardest and because we are wired to want to help save as many precious photos as we can.
Thankfully, it is also Save Your Photos month which was developed by APPO so I know many photo organizers will be helping in different ways in the days and weeks ahead. If you want more information, here is a list of disaster resource links. It is times like this that we gather together and help in whatever way we can with donations, prayers, and volunteering.
The tough stuff going on is such an important reminder to all of us to seize the day and be grateful for what we do have. As photo organizers, we’re pretty good at doing just that and we’re even better at taking photos of our daily life as well.
You get the name, right? 😉 We actually recorded the first 3 episodes before the hurricanes. The timing feels right to launch because people are more aware than ever about the importance of protecting our priceless memories. We love helping people with their photos and memories. We are constantly talking to each other about which new app we’ve tested or what new and shiny *challenge* we’ve encountered with our VIP clients’ photo collections.
And since we know we can’t help everyone with our personal services…
It’s all about reaching people who are busy and overwhelmed. Wait, that’s me. And you. And my neighbor. And everyone I know.
But seriously, we want to reach people who may not even know photo organizers exist. They’d like to try to get some control over their photos. They are not super techie. They may not be your ideal client. They want small (as in teeny tiny) baby steps about what they can do themselves to get their photo life in order!
We’d love for you to listen and subscribe. It’s not geared towards photo organizers as much as it is a place you can send friends, family or potential clients who aren’t quite ready to hire you. Or they might never hire you. Or you might not want them to hire you.
We’ll always be giving photo organizers a shout out to encourage them to seek out help when they are ready. Who knows, you might like some of our tips and implement them with your own photos?!!
P.S. We wrote a short ebook that is free for our podcast email subscribers where we share our own tips about our photos. It’s fun for us to get a little more personal and share photo stories. We plan to have great guests on the podcast including other photo organizers!
